Mohsin Ali, O.B.E.
International Journalist


Mr. Ali was born in the Himalayas in North India in 1923
and served in WWII as a British Air Force officer.

He joined Reuters News Agency at its London headquarters in 1948. In his 30 years as Reuters Diplomatic Correspondent (and later Diplomatic Editor), he covered: the significant East-West conferences, including Summit meetings; the Korea, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam peace talks; disarmament, nuclear test ban and non-proliferation negotiations. He also reported on the U.N General Assembly; NATO foreign and defense ministers’ meetings; European Community and GATT negotiations; World Bank and I.M.F. annual sessions; and Commonwealth summits.

On his retirement from Reuters, Queen Elizabeth made him an Officer of the Order of the British empire (O.B.E.) for his services to journalism.

Mr. Ali then joined the Times of London bureau in Washington D.C. and covered the White House, State Department, Pentagon, Congress and NASA for 9 years.

He has lectured nationally for the English Speaking Union and periodically does one hour television interviews on current world issues with Dr. Mark Evans on his show
Mark My Words.

Mr. Ali, a U.S. citizen, is married to Delores Gregory, a North Carolinian who worked with the E.P.A. in Washington, D.C. They have lived in serene Pinehurst, N.C. since 1995.
